We connect
Our growing global hub brings people living with diabetes and working across global health together to network, exchange ideas, and spark action.
We are a global community raising the voices of people living with diabetes.
Why we exist
Yet every day, decisions that shape treatment and care are being made without us.
When the voices of people with lived experience are sidelined, actions to improve the health and quality of life for 830 million people fall short.
We’re here to make sure they go the distance.
How we work
VIA Diabetes is building a world where the meaningful engagement of people with lived experience is a non-negotiable part of research, policy development, and decision-making.
By raising the voices of our community, we can:
Our growing global hub brings people living with diabetes and working across global health together to network, exchange ideas, and spark action.
Whether it’s getting fast-acting insulin analogues onto the WHO Essential Medicines List or shaping important policy discussions, we make sure the voices of people living with diabetes are heard.
If it matters to you it matters to us. We broker connections with groups, companies and organizations in the diabetes space to advance shared priorities together.
Living with diabetes is a 24/7 job. We support one another by sharing experiences, resources, and opportunities — building collective strength and giving us power over the decisions that shape our lives.
What began as a single online event is fast becoming a worldwide movement.

"The one thing I’d like them (medical professionals) to ask me, is “How are you feeling?” Because then you can talk about lots of things that are the side effects of your diabetes."
"This condition has taught me something about self-belief which I don't know I would have had without it."
The future for people living with diabetes is being decided now. Together we can make sure lived experience leads the way.
